The Supreme Committee for Crisis and Disaster Management in Dubai has intensified movement restrictions in a necessary attempt to contain the spread of COVID-19. It has been confirmed that citizens and residents who wish to leave their homes for any reason during the two-week sterilisations drive are required to register for a movement permit.

The only exceptions are those deemed to work in vital sectors for whom a letter from their employers will suffice. “With regard to the exempt sectors and their employees, registration is not required. But, they must obtain a letter from the employer stating their movement to and from work. The paper has to be presented if stopped by authorities. It can also be used to waive violations by radar. “ shared Dubai Media Office in reference to employees of vital sectors who are exempted from the move permit.

If you insist that it is absolutely essential for you to step out of your homes, you might want to consider applying for your movement permit here and avoid the hefty fines that currently range from Dhs1,000 to Dhs50,000.

Bear in mind, even with a permit at hand, only one member of the family is allowed to enter the supermarkets and pharmacies to purchase supplies and medication while wearing a mask and gloves.
