Healthcare workers worldwide in the frontline battling the novel coronavirus, amongst other diseases, deserve all the praise and motivation they could possibly receive from all global communities. COVID-19 has now infected over 2 million people worldwide and medical staff have put their lives on hold, and at risk, to save and protect the lives of others.
The Dove Courage is Beautiful campaign celebrates the strength of medical workers and encourages everyone else to stay home, respect the restrictions set out by governments and authorities globally, and aim to help those in need through donations and assistance at this crucial period.
“We’re doing everything we can to support government initiatives and help deliver care to vulnerable people and medical staff, wherever we can. Together, with our Dove family, Dove Men+Care, Baby Dove and Dove DermaSeries, we’re donating products to help deliver care and support to those who need it most,” shared Dove.
Alongside the donation of products being made to hospitals and healthcare centres, Dove has made a US $2 million donation to Direct Relief in partnership with Vaseline to go towards personal protective equipment for healthcare workers on the frontline in the US; and has also donated US $2.5 million worth of products to Feeding America, to support communities who have been affected by the impact of the pandemic.
Dove’s parent company, Unilever, has also donated over 200,000 masks to local hospitals in New Jersey and will contribute US $108 million to assist the combat against COVID-19 through donations of soap, sanitiser, bleach and food. While the medical staff does their part in saving lives, they continue to advise the rest of the world to practice social distancing and quarantine to prevent the increase of the overwhelming number of cases recorded across the globe.
