It seems like love was in the air this year, as 2023 has certainly seen a flood of royal weddings, which were nothing short of a grandeur display of love and not to forget the sheer sartorial elegance these brides exuded whilst walking down the aisle to say “I do.”
As we flip through the last few pages of the year 2023, let’s reflect on the most stunning royal brides and their fairytale wedding dresses before they vowed for a happily ever after with their princes.
Sheikha Mahra In Ezra Couture
The UAE royal bride Her Highness Sheikha Mahra bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum looked as radiant as ever as she donned an all-white hand-embroidered dress from Ezra Couture. The atelier being a Dubai-based designer, left no stone unturned to make sure Sheikha Mahra looked and felt her best on her big day to husband Sheikh Mana.
To compliment her gown, Sheikha Mahra had an elegant updo with cascading curls which had a long tulle veil pinned over it. She added some dazzling diamond jewellery and a white flower bouquet to finish off her look.
Princess Rajwa Al Hussein
Probably the most talked about wedding of 2023 was that of Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan and Rajwa Al Saif of Saudi Arabia. Princess Rajwa Al Hussein took the royal title of being a princess as she exchanged rings and said “I do” to Crown Prince Hussein at Al Zahran Palace in Amman. For her big day, the royal bride wore two stunning dresses.
For her first look, the princess wore a stunning draped dress with a fitted silhouette and a long train from the renowned fashion house Elie Saab. She wore a stunning tiara with minimal jewellery to finish off her look. Her wedding reception look consisted of a much fuller silhouette and texture from Dolce & Gabbana.
Princess Iman Bint Abdullah
It’s definitely been a busy year for the Jordanian royal family in the wedding department. Prior to the nuptials of Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa, the eldest daughter of King Abdullah II and Queen Rania, Princess Iman, wed Jameel Alexander Thermiotis. The Jordanian royal bride wore an elegant dress with lace detailing at the neckline and sleeves designed by the French Maison Dior. She paired her look with soft face-framing tendrils and subtle jewellery pieces.
Zane Abu Hantash
The Jordanian Royal Family rejoiced in another wedding that took place earlier this year. Zane Abu Hantash tied the knot with Tariq Judeh who is the son of Princess Sumaya bint Al Hassan. The bride wore a classic lace wedding dress with a sweetheart neckline and a flowing skirt that surely captured everyone’s attention at her royal wedding. She wore dainty diamond pieces to finish her look.
Lady Amelia Spencer
The late Princess Diana’s niece, Lady Amelia Spencer got married in a luxurious mountaintop venue to Greg Mallet. This royal bride wore an extravagant Versace dress to her big day.
The corset-like details and mermaid silhouette perfectly showed off all her features. The dress showcased a two-and-a-half metre train adorned with Swarovski crystals and a hand-embroidered neckline. She wore her hair up in a slicked-back bun and added some dainty jewellery pieces to complete her look.
Princess Sophie-Alexandra evekink
Sophie-Alexandra Evekink, who holds a PhD in Criminology from the University of Oxford, recently walked down the aisle to exchange vows with her now husband Prince Ludwig of Bavaria.
Just like most royal brides, the soon-to-be princess wore a beautiful wedding gown from the Lebanese designer Reem Acra, which featured intricate lace details an A-line silhouette and a delicate tulle veil that followed behind. She wore a magnificent statement tiara along with a pale bouquet as she tied the knot.
