New York Fashion Week is ending after five long days of striking shows, presentations, and creative beauty looks on the runway. This season featured shows by talented designers, like Peter Do, Maisie Williams, Proenza Schouler, and Fendi, who resurrected its baguette bag with Sarah Jessica Parker. Styles off the runway were just as exciting as the designers’ collections, as everyone who navigated the busy week held no punches while showing off their eclectic street styles.
No one does it better than the New Yorkers with their cool city-girl aesthetic, and the street-style ensembles from the Spring/Summer ’23 season have been a testament to just that. Thanks to our favourite fashion influencers, celebrities, and models’ off-duty looks, the picturesque city has been adorned with an array of bold neon and bright prints. Standout styles include boldly printed skirts, which have gained a lot of traction this year. The attendees were also spotted wearing varying leather jackets in classic black and brown shades. It seems like everyone got the memo to adhere to the ‘dopamine dressing‘ trend, albeit last season, it still remains prevalent now along with Y2K. The outfits were paired with tiny bags, a lot of Bottega and Balenciaga. The sporty Balenciaga sunglasses, Kim Kardashian can’t seem to get enough of were a fan favourite, along with the latest funky sunglasses by Loewe.
