We all know that beauty mogul Mona Kattan will be joining Virgin Radio presenter Kris Fade on season two of Netflix’s reality show, Dubai Bling. Arabian Business reports this season will focus on Mona and Kris working together to launch a new dating app.
Dubai Bling showcases the glamorous lives of Dubai’s ten millionaires with the usual dash of drama, lavish parties, first-world problems and lots of fashion. In this season, however, Netflix decided to add a dating storyline. New cast member Saudi Comedian Amy Roko was recently dropped from the season mid-shoot citing she refused to take part in the new direction Dubai Bling is taking.
A Netflix source explained, “It’s all about ratings, so yes, going down the dating road maybe controversial, but there is also a solid business angle to the story.”
Mona Kattan, who will be joining the Dubai Bling season two, is the founder of Kayali Perfumes and co-founder of Huda Beauty alongside her sisters Huda and Alya Kattan. She is a notable name in the beauty industry amassing 2.8 million followers on her Instagram.
“Mona is a hugely successful businesswoman but always associated with her sister Huda and Huda Beauty, so this is a chance for her to shine on her own,” stated a Netflix source.
Not many details regarding the dating app are publicised at the moment including its targeted demographics but Dubai Bling season 2 will reveal the business partnership between the two cast members.
Dubai Bling’s season one was the third-most watched non-English series on Netflix. So, season two is expected to be bigger and grander. The original cast Zeina Khoury, Loujain Adadah, Lojain Omran, Farhana Bodi, Kris Fade, Brianna Fade, Ebraheem Al Samadi, Farhana Bodi, Marwan Al-Awadhi, Safa Siddiqui, Loujain Adadah, and Danya Mohammed are expected to return. Dubai Bling is currently under production, but the release date is yet to be announced.
