You’re hearing this right, PSG superstar Kylian Mbappé has reportedly shut down discussions of a $776 million (Dhs2.8 billion) offer from Riyadh-based football club Al Hilal to play in Saudi Arabia for one season.

Breaking it down, that equates to about $64 million a month, $14.7 million a week and $2.1 million a day.

Reports circulating online claim Al Hilal sent a formal letter to the Paris Saint-Germain team requesting the transfer of Mbappé, offering a fee of $390 million (Dhs1.4 billion), from which the French club gave permission for the Saudi club to open discussions. However, it was reportedly to no avail.

According to local French sports publication L’Equipe, the French footballer refused “any discussion with the representatives of Al Hilal club, present in Paris this Wednesday”.

A transfer to play professionally in Saudi Arabia was an option that was “never considered” by Mbappé, who has one year left on his contract with PSG and also reportedly has dreams of joining Real Madrid in 2024.

The Saudi Pro League is growing fast, with clubs recently picking up super-strikers Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema. Ronaldo joined Al Nassr football club at the beginning of 2023, signing a contract until 2025. Meanwhile, Benzema joined Saudi Professional League club Al-Ittihad just last month.
