Art begins at the root of heritage – nurtured from fruitful seeds that have been watered across generations. Over time, those traditions bloom into a rich tapestry of history, culture and resilience. Where the line between art and tradition is often blurred – formulating a roadmap of what a land once was and what it has since become.
Now, Her Highness Princess Sora bint Saud Al Saud of Saudi Arabia takes readers on a cultural journey through history, art and tradition, starting with a love letter to the Kingdom’s capital – Riyadh.

The book marks the beginning of the Saudi royal’s Sora collection, a set of books masking invitations to a celebration of Saudi Arabian identity through pages of contemporary artwork. Princess Sora, 35, is recognised for her philanthropic and entrepreneurial efforts, and has frequently championed cultural initiatives centred around preserving and celebrating Saudi heritage.
Through the collection, Her Highness aims to represent stories from all thirteen regions of the Kingdom, weaving together a visual tapestry that reflects the diversity and beauty of Saudi Arabian identity. United in diversity, rich in culture and timeless in spirit – each book offers a glimpse into the stories that shape the Kingdom.

“I wanted to create something that could serve as a starting point for readers, especially children, to spark curiosity and exploration,” said Princess Sora when asked to comment on the collection. “Each book is meant to inspire, and to live beautifully as a coffee-table piece that invites conversation, pride, and a deeper connection to our culture.”
In her love letter to Riyadh, Her Highness features imagery and expressive artwork of the capital, documenting the city’s identity, history, culture and arts. Revealing an immersive exploration of Riyadh’s history and capturing the city’s transformation into a rich melting pot of cultures. The book aims to cultivate curiosity about Riyadh’s meaningful roots, inviting readers to honour its cultural identity whilst simultaneously embracing what is to come. Capturing the city’s evolution while remaining rooted in the heritage that continues to shape it.
When asked to comment on the launch, Princess Sora stated: “Riyadh is more than a book; it’s an invitation to connect with our roots. Every page is a reminder that our capital is not only a place of progress and vision, but also a city built on heritage, resilience, and heart.”
The book was unveiled at an exclusive event hosted at Diriyah, a heritage site near Riyadh and the birthplace of the Kingdom. Here, the stories of Riyadh moved beyond the pages and into an evening centred around community, culture and connection. Bringing together traditional Arabic food, live performances and artwork displays to reflect the themes of the book with an immersive experience. Honouring guests with the hospitality, kindness and generosity that has been meaningfully passed down in Saudi Arabian households for generations.
Saudi Arabia has long been shaped by its rich heritage, culture and resilience. Now, through this collection, Princess Sora turns her attention to the stories, traditions and communities that have helped define the Kingdom – celebrating Saudi Arabia’s beginnings while welcoming its path forward.
