It’s been a busy month for Gigi Hadid, who not only released the first collection from her new fashion label, Guest in Residence, a cashmere-exclusive knitwear line, but who has also spent the past few weeks dating — or at least being pursued by — Hollywood’s most notorious bachelor, Leonardo DiCaprio.
After reports surfaced earlier this week suggesting the pair had been “spending time together” in New York City following DiCaprio’s split with actress Camila Morrone last month, the first photos, obtained by the Daily Mail, seemingly confirmed the fact. Hadid and DiCaprio were pictured sitting together at a NYFW after-party, where DiCaprio can be seen leaning forward and speaking into Hadid’s ear. In another one of the images, he’s seen reaching for her hand.
Branching out from his usual type — any hot woman under the age of 25, preferably one who’s modelled for Victoria’s Secret — DiCaprio, instead, reportedly has his eyes set on Hadid following his split from his girlfriend of four years, Morrone. Hadid, of course, ticks boxes in every area bar her age of 27: two years older than anyone DiCaprio, at the ripe old age of 47 himself, has ever dated in the past. Furthermore, Hadid is the only mother DiCaprio has ever been publicly linked to: she has a 2-year-old daughter with her ex-boyfriend Zayn Malik.
Apparently, these surprising factors only add to Hadid’s charm: “He really likes that she has her life together,” a source told PEOPLE following the photographic evidence. “She has a child and she’s mature. He wants to be with someone who has the same idea of good causes and political views like he does.”
A different source also spoke to E!, saying despite how things look, DiCaprio isn’t a step-daddy just yet: apparently, neither the actor nor supermodel are looking for a serious relationship right now. “He’s enjoying being single,” their source said, adding the pair are “not exclusive.”
Someone else in Hadid’s camp agreed. “Neither of them want a relationship” at the moment, they said. “Gigi and Leo have hung out multiple times and are into each other. Gigi thinks he’s a really cool guy. Majority of their hangouts have stemmed from being in the same social circles at various parties.”
