The luxury French fashion label Louis Vuitton has taken Squid Game’s HoYeon Jung under its wing as its latest global ambassador. The viral sensation and model-turned-actress is no stranger to the fashion world, having walked fashion ramps for various opulent labels such as Burberry, Marc Jacobs, Roberto Cavalli, and Fendi.
Nicolas Ghesquière, the creative director of Louis Vuitton, shared how Jung has always been the perfect fit for the brand, referring to her initial work with Louis Vuitton in 2017:
“I immediately fell in love with HoYeon’s great talent and fantastic personality, and I am looking forward to starting this new chapter of the journey we started at Louis Vuitton a few years ago.”
The release of Netflix’s Squid Game has paved the way for Jung. She has gained a stark influx of over 13 million Instagram followers within three weeks, making her the most-followed South Korean actress on the social media platform. In the Korean dystopian series, she played the role of Kang Sae-byeok, a North Korean defector, who participates in the dangerous game in an attempt to reunite and protect her family.
“It is an honor to start my acting career with Louis Vuitton, the brand I have modeled for, I look forward to all the moments with Louis Vuitton as a global ambassador,” said Jung in a press release.
With Jung now adding Global Ambassador to her list of accomplishments, we’re all catching our breaths to see what else the rising star has in store for all of us.
