Are the days of regular fashion shows with real-life tangible clothing over? Its possible that they very well might be, with several major fashion houses and couturiers entering the sphere of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). It seems as though our every day universe has become a bore for these designers, as they’ve taken it upon themselves to explore what the metaverse has to offer them, and we must say it seems fruitful.

Luxury fashion brands including Louis Vuitton and Dolce&Gabbana to name a few, have all experimented with the technological advancements of the modern world, with Louis Vuitton launching a NFT game and Dolce&Gabbana auctioning a nine-piece virtual collection, setting a 6 million-dollar record for fashion NFTs.

Dolce&Gabbana NFT Collection

It seems as though designers and brands are on a space race, except they’re all competing to the finish line in the metaverse and the competition is fierce. Rami Kadi, beloved Lebanese couturier and founder of his eponymous label, took to social media yesterday to announce his entrance to the race, and he certainly isn’t holding back. The designer is releasing his Spring/Summer 2022 collection in the form of NFTs.

“As a pioneer of technology in couture, we are pleased to announce that #RamiKadi is the first designer on the #Cardano blockchain, set to launch his SS2022 NFT collection soon.
Stay tuned for an immersive NFT couture experience that will profoundly shape the future of fashion.”

The designer is no stranger to the tech-world, proving his expertise in the field with 3D-printed designs in the past and the use of advanced technology such as laser-cut machines to create his extravagant collections. However, this collection, named Lucid Algorithms, comes in a far greater magnitude, as it is said to be “the very first human-computer couture co-creation of this scale.”

The collection is set to be released on the 2nd of February, 2022. Stay tuned for more as we explore the new era of the metaverse.
