Emirates is the next company showing its support for Lebanon.

With everything going on in Beirut, it seems like brands, influencers, and celebrities are coming together for Lebanon now more than ever. From influencers sourcing medicine and providing safe ways to deliver it to Lebanon to A-listers creating reliable funds to donate to the country, and now, Emirates is taking the next step forward to supporting Lebanon in a significant way.

Earlier today, the airline took to their social media to share a new protocol directed toward Lebanese visitors. The picture featured an image of a customer prepping his bag before departure, captioned, “We stand with our Lebanese customers and will provide much-needed baggage allowance for travel to Beirut between now and 30 September 2021. Our customers will be able to take advantage of an additional 10kg of baggage from the UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Australia to pack extra items to support family and friends back home. Emirates customers travelling to Beirut via Dubai from the United States, Canada, Brazil, Zambia, Angola, Guinea, Senegal, South Africa, Ivory Coast and Ghana will be eligible to carry an additional piece of luggage totalling 23kg.”

As of last week, the central bank of Lebanon announced the devastating shortage of fuel and medicine, which only amplified the ongoing economic crisis. The citizens cannot access any medication in pharmacies, whether for diabetes, chronic diseases, fatal illness or cancer – the Lebanese people are out of everything, so a gesture like this can truly change lives.
