Dua Lipa‘s inclusion in Balenciaga‘s Haute Couture runway show in Paris this week, alongside Nicole Kidman, Kim Kardashian and Naomi Campbell, is all anyone’s been talking about lately. This news means we somehow overlooked the popstar’s iconic wedding guest moment just one day before the Balenciaga show.
A longtime fan of fun, colourful and eye-catching fashion moments, Lipa proved it’s possible to stay true to your sense of style at a wedding, wearing a lace dress which was veering on white territory in the photos but seemed to be lavender in colour. The popstar paired it with a set of matching long gloves.
This pop star was not afraid of upstaging the bride at this wedding, opting for a strong, personalised look rather than toned-down wedding guest attire. She styled the lace dress and gloves with eye-catching metallic thigh-high boots and Y2K-like sunglasses by GCDS.
The singer’s dress, matching lace gloves, and boots were from Bottega Veneta‘s autumn/winter 2022 collection (the first from the brand’s new creative director Matthieu Blazy). She also wore a yet-to-be-released metallic handbag from the brand and matched her eyeshadow to the pastel colour of her dress.
On Instagram, Lipa posted a slideshow of images of herself attending the friend’s nuptials, captioning the gallery simply, 🎀weddingseason🎀, in reference to it being peak summer – and peak ‘I do’ weather – in the northern hemisphere currently. Not only that, but a ‘wedding boom’ has been reported this year, with an unprecedented number of weddings – around 2.5 million in 2022 in the US alone, the most since 1984 – set to take place. Wedding season, indeed.
