The stars have begun filing into the MGM Grand Garden Arena for the 64th Grammy Awards. In a fitting finale to the glitzy red carpet, Dua Lipa joined the star-studded cue, the blondest she’s ever been, in vintage Versace. The pop star is not nominated for an award at the annual affair but is currently touring for her celebrated Future Nostalgia album.
The pop star swapped her usual brunette locks for sweeping blonde extensions which was aptly paired with a dark burgundy lip. The bondage-inspired gown was pulled from the 1992 Versace collection entitled “Miss S&M” and was the exact same look Cindy Crawford was seen wearing at the 1992 MTV Music Awards shortly after. Leave it to Lipa to bring back a ’90s icon.
We shouldn’t be shocked (nor visibly paralysed) by the star’s incredible look. After all, she paid homage to Cher at last year’s Grammy Awards in a glittering pink Versace number which sparked the return – and subsequent renewed fascination – of the ’90s butterfly motif. Following the bombshell red carpet look, Lipa later walked the Versace Spring/Summer 2022 runway (famously to her own music) for the Italian fashion house.
The surprise appearance comes after Lipa teased she was in the desert city on social media. “Woke up in Vegas,” she wrote to social media wearing a drop-waist mini dress which was paired with a red garter belt.
The 26-year-old is currently on tour throughout North America for her award-winning album Future Nostalgia which is set to take the rest of the world later this year. The singer-cum-actress is now preparing to make her silver screen debut in the upcoming Apple TV+ film Argylle. A spy thriller directed by Matthew Vaughn and also starring Henry Cavill.
