Dua Lipa might’ve ditched her usual style in favour of a French girl chic look earlier this week, but if you thought that meant there’d be similar low-key looks on display for her Future Nostalgia world tour, which kicked off in Miami overnight, you’d be wrong.
Taking to the stage to a screaming crowd, who’d waited months for pandemic reschedules, Lipa wore a bright neon custom-made Balenciaga bodycon catsuit with lace detailing throughout both the lingerie-inspired bodice and the legs, built-in boots and matching long-sleeve gloves.
Opting for the look as her debut onto the stage makes sense: Lipa is a big-time Balenciaga girl, who’s almost never seen without one of the brand’s popular handbags (she has the Le Cagole in blue and the Hourglass in black), nor its Runner sneakers, nearby.
Of course, this is a Dua Lipa show and that means there are multiple outfit changes happening throughout the night. Later during the show, Lipa changed into Marine Serre tights – printed with the designer’s signature moon motif paired with a silver glitter bodysuit and a shimmering Mugler catsuit, which you can see here:
In recent years, Lipa has cemented herself as one of the world’s most stylish celebrities with help from her stylist, Lorenzo Posocco. Since breaking up with her boyfriend Anwar Hadid, the pop star has upped the sexy, too, popping on Miu Miu moon boots with bikinis in winter and reviving the ‘going out top’ through Masha Popova butterfly tops and, most recently, a floral pink crop by Russian-based label Ch4rm, which she wore the day before kicking off her tour in Miami.
Furthermore, for people who can’t make it to her shows, Lipa’s providing BTS access via Instagram, where she revealed what she’d asked for in her rider: a bunch of puppies. Before you call animal welfare, the puppies are from adoption shelters and Lipa is helping to raise awareness for her fans to adopt, not shop.
