Ramadan is not only about fasting and having tons of food at Iftar or Suhoor with our family and friends, it is also about peace, prayer, and most important of all, giving back to our community as a representation of our generosity and gratefulness during the Holy month. In honour of this year’s Ramadan season, many of your favourite businesses have taken the time to partner up with some amazing initiatives and institutions to create campaigns with the goal of donating and doing charitable work. These businesses want to send some relief to those less fortunate by giving back so they can too celebrate this spiritual holiday in harmony. Below, we round up all the business that are giving back.

Meta, the tech company formerly known as Facebook, launches its #MealsForReels campaign to give back in the spirit of this year’s Ramadan. They have partnered up with the 1 Billion Meals initiative, which is the largest food donation drive in the region, to provide food and aid for those who need it most in over 50 countries across the world.

This initiative in partnership with Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), will consist of a group of food influencers, chefs, and food enthusiasts posting reels on Facebook and Instagram during the month of Ramadan with donation wallets attached to the post provided by MBRGI. This is an effort to encourage their followers and supporters to donate money to the 1 Billion Meals initiative in support of their favourite content creators. Over 100 content creators across MENA, UK, and Spain have agreed to participate in this initiative including names like Mohamad Henedy, Chef Manal Al Alem, Karen Wazen, and Chef Shaheen Khalid Al Ameri just to name a few.

Level Shoes

To help out underprivileged communities during this Holy month, the shoe retailer Level Shoes launches an initiative during this year’s Ramadan with the goal to provide a meal for those in need. For every purchase their clients make, they will be making a donation towards the Nefsy and Tarahim charity foundations. This way, their customers can treat themselves to a new pair of shoes while at the same time contributing to a good cause.

Dubai Duty Free

To go along with the spirit of giving back this Ramadan season, Dubai Duty Free, the duty-free operations company for the Dubai International Airport, donated Dhs5 million to the 1 Billion Meals initiative. This generous donation will provide millions of meals to underprivileged communities worldwide, so they can have a warm meal during this holy month as well.

Ounass

The clothing retail company Ounass in partnership with the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) is celebrating the true meaning of Ramadan by encouraging their shoppers to make a donation to this charitable organisation. When paying for their items at checkout, shoppers can at the same time donate to UNHCR, making it easy to spread generosity to those in need. The UNHCR is a philanthropic organisation dedicated to protecting and saving the lives of refugees by providing them with basic needs and education, so every time you choose to give back, you are also helping contribute to this goal.
