To be honest, the title of this may be a little misleading, since it would practically take forever to recall every single time Palestinian-Dutch supermodel, Bella Hadid, spoke up for her father’s homeland of Palestine. One half of the Hadid modeling dynamite duo, Bella has never shied away from speaking up about any cause that matters to her, whether it be the Ukrainian war or Black Lives Matter. She has used her platform to shed light on the atrocities and tragedies that several underprivileged communities face, but the cause that seems to be the dearest to her heart is Palestinian human rights.

It’s clear that the reason behind this is the influence and knowledge her father passed down to her as well as the rest of his children. Whether it be by teaching his kids Palestinian delicacies in the kitchen, or sharing his personal story of fleeing Nazareth in 1948 to seek refuge in Syria, Hadid made sure to instill a sense of patriotism in all of his children. Below, we round up the most memorable times Bella Hadid spoke out about Palestine.

When her father was invited to speak at Harvard University, Bella Hadid and her siblings went to show support to her dad and posted a heartfelt dedication to him, “Thank you for constantly teaching & showing me the true beauty and truth of the Muslim/Palestinian community; I can’t wait to continue to follow in your footsteps.”

Back in 2020 during Eid, Bella posted a greeting to his Muslim followers, and announced that she would be donating to different charities that support refugees and other people that have witnessed conflict, including children in Palestine, Suria, Iraq and Lebanon. She went on to share, “They [the charity] also offer university programs to help Palestinians grow up to be everything they can be. I will be supporting this organization for a very long time 🖤 I want these children to know that they are so special and that there are people here that care about them..”

Last year, Hadid posted a throwback photo of herself during a protest in London where she marched in front of the US embassy in solidarity with Palestine. Her post read, “…I stand with my Palestinian brothers and sisters , I will protect and support you as best as I can. I LOVE YOU. I feel for you. And I cry for you. I wish I could take away your pain… I have been told my entire life that who I am : a Palestinian woman – is not real. I’ve been told my father does not have a birth place if he is from Palestine. And I am here to say . Palestine is very much real and the Palestinian people are here to stay and coexist. As they always have. And we will always come together as a family. Always.”

The supermodel took to her Instagram to post a throwback photo of her grandparents’ wedding in Nazareth, further reiterating her pride in her Palestinian roots. She also took to write, “I love my family, I love my heritage, I love Palestine.”

Hadid has also proven that she will no longer be silenced to speak on the brutality that many Palestinians face, with a photo of a poster that quoted her, “It’s free Palestine til Palestine is free.”
