Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell have once again found themselves at the centre of romantic speculation. Over the weekend, the Anyone But You co-stars were spotted spending time together in Dallas, just days after news broke that Sweeney had called off her engagement to longtime partner Jonathan Davino.
According to images obtained by gossip page Deuxmoi (see here), the duo was seen enjoying a meal at a Mexican restaurant, surrounded by friends.
Sweeney, 27, dressed in an understated black outfit, seemed at ease with the company, according to witnesses. Powell, 36, meanwhile, kept things casual in a khaki polo shirt.
Insiders suggest that Sweeney’s visit to Texas was primarily for Powell’s sister’s wedding—a celebration she had RSVP’d to well before her split. While Powell himself was absent from a reported brunch she attended with his family, sources confirm that the Euphoria star has maintained a longstanding friendship with the Powells, particularly with his sister.
Despite the social media frenzy, a source close to the pair clarified to TMZ that they did not attend the wedding as a couple, though they remain close.
Sweeney’s recent split from Davino, 41, has been described as the result of ongoing relationship struggles, with reports citing career pressures and differing priorities as key factors. For now, as one chapter closes, another—at least in the court of public fascination—seems to be unfolding.
“Sydney and Jonathan have been having major issues but are not fully split,” an insider told Us Weekly, adding that the chapter isn’t entirely closed on the couple, who have been together since 2018.
“Things are not great right now, but they aren’t throwing in the towel yet,” they continued. “They are working on their relationship but have called off the wedding for now.”
According to the source, the couple were “supposed to get married this spring”, but Sweeney “couldn’t handle the stress” of a wedding during this time of her career.
Sweeney and Powell initially faced the wrath of the social media rumour mill during the filming and press tour of their rom-com, Anyone But You.
Throughout their multiple appearances together, fans couldn’t help but notice how much their on-screen chemistry carried through IRL. Things got even more heated when it was reported that Powell ended his three-year relationship with model Gigi Paris, 30, who then unfollowed him and Sweeney on Instagram.
