An exclusive Hermès exhibition has arrived in Qatar.
From 16 October to 9 November, the National Museum of Qatar in Doha presents “Hermès Heritage: In Motion,” the third and final chapter of the luxury Maison’s heritage exhibition series.
Hermès Heritage is a cycle of touring exhibitions that explores the story of Hermès from its origins to the present day, fostering dialogue between objects from the Émile Hermès collection, Hermès’ archives, and contemporary collections. Following the success of “Once Upon a Bag” and “Harnessing the Roots,” this latest instalment invites visitors to discover Hermès’ rich legacy of movement and travel.
Hermès has found a fitting home for “In Motion” in Doha, a city that, much like the exhibition, honours its roots while seamlessly blending modern innovation and continually moving forward. The exhibition reflects Qatar’s own journey, celebrating both heritage and progress.

Founded in 1837 by Thierry Hermès as a harness and saddle workshop, the brand has evolved into a global luxury leader known for its commitment to craftsmanship and quality. “In Motion” explores the journey of the maison, offering an insightful look at how the concept of mobility has influenced Hermès’ design and philosophy throughout its history.
Visitors can expect to see an exquisite array of items, including handcrafted leather goods, iconic silk scarves, and innovative fashion piece, each embodying the spirit of motion. “In Motion” features a collection of iconic Hermès pieces, including the Jeu des Omnibus et Dames Blanches, the first scarf designed by the house in 1937, which depicts horse-drawn carriages paying tribute to the first public transport in Paris in the 1820s. The exhibition also includes the Postilion’s riding boots, inspired by the legendary seven-league boots. Attendees will also discover the Bolide picnic bag, a design inspired by a 1920s travel bag, showcasing the brand’s blend of elegance and functionality.
Beyond static displays, “In Motion” offers interactive elements that engage visitors in Hermès’ artistry. Workshops and expert-led talks will provide insights into the dilgent craftsmanship that defines the brand, encouraging a dialogue about the significance of movement in both design and lifestyle.
Only open until November 9 at National Museum of Qatar in Doha, “Hermès Heritage: In Motion” is a must-visit for fashion and culture enthusiasts, offerings a compelling journey of the brand’s legacy through the themes of movement and travel.
