It’s the year 2019, Daniel Lee took the realms of Bottega Veneta and his mesh pumps are flooding our feeds. Now it’s 2020 and his Jodie bag is on all our wishlists. Now it’s 2021, Bottega Veneta has become MIA on social media and yet their signature green is on every retailer’s rack. Bottega Veneta made green the new black, and it looks like corals are about to become the new green.

From coats to bags and even shearling slides, there’s no denying that the brand has made their electric green the colour of the year. Even the high street has caught on to the trend and adapted it into their collections. With the release of Lee’s latest campaign, Salon 02, he has seemed to remain loyal to green whilst also adopting a new colour gradient: corals. From fiery red fringed dresses to feminine pink feathered jackets, Lee’s ability to play with colours is unparalleled.

Lee’s laidback and mysterious persona has proven to do wonders for himself and even for Bottega Veneta. His lack of any online presence goes to show that customer loyalty can’t be advertised – it’s earned.  In a once-in-a-blue-moon occurrence, Lee spoke to 032c, “I’m not someone who’s particularly digital – I’m not so much on Instagram or on the Internet. I much prefer real life exchange.” Magically, a few months later Bottega Veneta’s social media presence vanished. We can’t help but wonder, is Bottega Veneta’s success story all because of the man behind the brand?

We’re always excited to see what Lee is going to come up with next, and ever since joining the brand he’s repositioned it as a powerhouse in the industry. Daniel Lee is a trend-setter and we’re all on board for what he has in store for us!
