Are they, aren’t they? We’re eight months into 2023, and it seems that the biggest A-lister link-up could already be over before their official ‘hard launch’.
The rumoured courtship between Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet is the latest pairing to find itself at the centre of conflicting gossip reports.
Given the exponential pace Hollywood romances move and the tabloid-generated rumour mill constantly espousing unverified updates about the inner workings of relationships, it’s hard to differentiate what is fact from fiction.
But depending on who you talk to, the makeup mogul and award-winning actor have either split or are stronger than ever.
So, how did we get here?
Earlier in the week, Life&Style reported that Chalamet and Jenner ended their seven-month romance, citing that the Dune star “dumped” the cosmetics juggernaut.
Taking into consideration that this is the same publication that claimed Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn were engaged, it was worth taking this report with a grain of salt.
However, it turns out the allegation was severe enough for multiple sources close to the couple to come forward and dispel the claims altogether.
As per TMZ, these assertions maintained by Life&Style “couldn’t be further from the truth”. The publication continued, citing that “multiple sources close to the couple” revealed that because the pair haven’t been seen together in public recently, doesn’t mean they’ve split.
The entertainment tabloid reports that Jenner and Chalamet’s relationship is “cool” and “any reports that say otherwise are false.”
Of course, given that Jenner and Chalamet’s relationship is seemingly bi-coastal, with the Wonka star regularly spotted in New York while Jenner resides in Los Angeles, it’s understood why any sightings of the pair are sporadic at best.
Jenner and Chalamet first sparked dating rumours back in April, however, it was a strategic seating arrangement at Haider Ackerman’s Haute Couture collection for Jean Paul Gaultier back at Paris Haute Couture Week in January where the pair first connected.
In the months that followed, Jenner and Chalamet were sighted together on three different occasions. The first was when Chalamet and Jenner were pictured getting lunch together at a Los Angeles taco truck.
It’s reported that their first ‘date’ took place after an art show in Santa Monica, with Jenner’s security team grabbing the Mexican street fare for the couple as they ate it in the back seat of her luxury SUV.
Later that month, Jenner was unexpectedly pictured arriving at Chalamet’s Los Angeles mansion in her black Range Rover.
Things escalated when the first pictures of Jenner and Chalamet together emerged. Though it was speculated they’d make their first official outing as a couple at Coachella, the pair were pictured casually in the backyard of Jenner’s Hidden Hills mansion.
Both Jenner and Chalamet’s sisters, Kendall Jenner and Pauline Chalamet, were also in attendance.
Given neither one has addressed the romance, we’ll be waiting with bated breath for their first official outing to determine to nature of their relationship. Here’s hoping they coordinate in matching Haider Ackermann ensembles.
