Gwyneth Paltrow has opened up about her 2016 divorce to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. In a new interview with fellow actor Anna Faris on her podcast, Anna Faris Is Unqualified, Paltrow spoke about the impact that their infamous ‘conscious uncoupling‘ had on her.
“I’ve learned so much from something I wanted least in the world,” she told Faris, who is also twice divorced after splitting from Guardians Of The Galaxy star Chris Pratt in 2018. Both Paltrow and Faris discuss the lessons that their respective separations taught them, with Paltrow saying it renewed her focus on personal accountability.
“I never wanted to get divorced. I never wanted to not be married to the father of my kids, theoretically,” she said. “But I have learned more about myself through that process than I could have imagined. And because I focused on accountability, I was then able to find the most amazing man and build something that I’ve never had before with Brad [Falchuk], my husband.”
The GOOP entrepreneur married acclaimed TV writer, producer and director Falchuk back in 2018. “We were friends first for a long time and once I was like, ‘Are we going to date? Is this happening?'” she recalled of the early moments in their relationship. “I was scared because he is a person who demands presence and intimacy and communication in a way that I just didn’t know how to [do].”
