Las Vegas may be known for its expansive deserts and high-octane nightlife, but tonight, the spotlight belongs solely to the 2025 American Music Awards (AMAs). With Jennifer Lopez at the helm as host—and Taylor Swift fans on high alert for any hint of a long-rumoured re-record of her sixth studio album, Reputation—the evening is already pulsing with promise. But before a single trophy changes hands, there’s plenty of intrigue unfolding on this year’s purple carpet.
Long encouraging rebellion and risk—think Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake‘s iconic matching denim moment—this year’s awards ceremony was no exception, with the event becoming a theatre of the unexpected.
