It’s the first Monday of May, which means the 2023 Met Gala is officially here. Hailed as fashion’s Superbowl, the annual extravaganza sets the stage for some of the most dizzying red carpet moments we can expect for the year.
Held in New York City at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the major event will be co-hosted by Penélope Cruz, Michaela Coel, Roger Federer and Dua Lipa as the celebrity co-chairs, with Anna Wintour also reprising her role as chairman of the event since 1995.
This year’s theme, entitled ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty’ will honour the late designer who passed away in 2019. Best known for his work helming Chanel for almost four decades, the German native also left his mark on the houses of Fendi, Balmain, Chloé, and his own eponymous label.
With guests set to bring their absolute most, we expect to see plenty of Lagerfeld’s signatures in tweed, monochrome, florals and even a Chanel bride or two.
