YSL Beauty has always been one of the most innovative and dynamic beauty brands on the market, and today, they’re continuing to innovate and change with the launch of the NU Collection. YSL Beauty is a high-end, luxury line, and now they’re appealing to the younger generation with a five-piece diffusion collection of hybrid makeup and skincare. It was created for Gen Z by Gen Z.
The brand campaign features a collective of some o the biggest names in Gen Z talent including Rickey Thompson, Brynne Rosetta and Chella Man. Each product in the NU Collection includes at least one ingredient from the female-led Ourika Community Gardens Botanicals. The brand is using all the fave Gen Z buzzwords: clean and sustainable, with packaging covered in QR codes in order to create something both luxurious and edgy but still accessible to all. All of the inner and outer packaging comes in sustainable containers made out of recycled material with vegetal ink printing and comes with no plastic sleeve.
The collection boasts five products for simple and multi-faceted use. The Glow In Balm is a highlighter and moisturizer, great for those of us (Read: Me) who love a glow, thanks to the light-reflecting pearls. For those who prefer a more matte look, the Blotting Lotion feels like a jelly texture, but goes on with a light, mattifying finish. The brand’s Bare Look Tint comes in 20 shades of low-to-medium coverage, with a lightweight formula composed of two times more water than foundation, as well as glycerin for boosted hydration. Plus, it’s full of the good good ingredients like hyaluronic acid and brightening mallow — it’ll let your skin shine through while also treating it.
There’s the Tone Corrector, which comes in 3 shades and the line’s version of a CC cream with more moisturizing properties, and finish + set the entire look with the Dewy Mist, a new staple of my makeup routine.
