Calling all lingerie lovers: the ultimate capsule collaboration of the summer is here, courtesy of Amina Muaddi and Wolford.
Surprisingly, the forthcoming collection contains no shoes. This choice might seem strange, as Muaddi’s maximalist mules, pumps, and sandals are her calling cards. However, her eye-catching, cheeky aesthetic is still present in the line’s main ready-to-wear and hosiery. She definitively adds her own enchanting touch to Wolford’s staple pieces, beloved by stars from Abigail Spencer to Ariana Grande.
The lingerie portion of the collection is minimalist, but packs a major punch. Wolford’s signature sheer tights are reimagined in punchy hues of red and neon green. There are also two statement tights: a sharp white pair of fishnets, and a sleek black latex pair with straps to slide around your feet (or heel vamps, if you so choose). One of the most glamorous offerings, however, adds a magical touch to a wardrobe staple: three tones of nude fishnets are reimagined with a finish of Swarovski crystals. All pairs feature co-branded elastic waistbands, as well.
As far as clothing goes, the garments Muaddi designed with the Austrian fashion brand are similarly bold. A stretchy, knee-length dress is crafted in a vibrant red ribbed knit, featuring long sleeves and sexy hip cutouts. There’s also a long-sleeved white dress with a mock turtleneck, boasting a thigh-high slit. One of the sharpest pieces in the line is also its’ most versatile: a sleeveless black minidress, with ruched sides serving as lingerie-inspired details.
If you need styling inspiration for these pieces, look no further than the accompanying campaign. Models are dressed head-to-toe in monochromatic outfits that match their dresses and tights with coordinating sandals and sparkling pumps. In the case of several, all they need to make a statement are a pair of tights and Muaddi’s sleek PVC mules or spiked sandals—no tops required.
The collection is Wolford’s latest collaborative fashion project. The brand has previously launched collections with Valentino, Vivienne Westwood, and Karl Lagerfeld, as well as limited-edition T-shirts with photographer Helmut Newton. Most recently, Wolford released a line of ’90s-inspired sheer activewear with Adidas, and crafted special piped stockings for Mugler’s viral spring ’21 runway show.
Muaddi, as she’s done with her own collections, will preview the collaboration through her social media next Monday. On July 7, the collection—which retails starting at $90—will officially launch on Wolford’s website.
