Victoria Beckham‘s ‘Posh’ pout has retained icon status since her 90s popstar days, but it’s only in recent years that we’ve had access to the exact formula she uses to get her infamous nude lip. Given that her pinky-beige lip is so synonymous with her trademark aesthetic, it makes sense that creating the Posh lipstick was a significant moment for Beckham. The designer even told Glossy that adding the product to her Victoria Beckham Beauty empire was one of the “most personal products I’ve ever launched”.
Now that we have the Posh Lipstick in several shades, the only missing piece of the makeup puzzle was just how Beckham applies her favorite nude hue. Thankfully the star has obliged, recently sharing her trick for creating a defined, full pout that lasts all night. Taking to her Instagram Story, Beckham walked her followers through her everyday makeup routine, including her secret to that Posh lip.
She revealed that she starts her lip routine by applying a coat of the Victoria Beckham Beauty Bitten Lip Tint’s original shade. “I put it all over my mouth, let it dry and then with my No.02 Liner – which I’m completely obsessed with – I put a little bit of liner around the top and bottom of my mouth,” she explained.
Next she applies the Posh Lipstick in the shade Twist, a beige shade with subtle rosy undertones. “What I love about [Twist] is how it’s got quite a pinky tone which is very fresh and youthful,” she revealed. “And it actually really updated my look – I was never into pink shades but this feels like the perfect nude with a little hint of pink, and I love it.”
After shaping the lip and applying lipstick, Beckham then secures the color to make it last all night. “I like to really press it into my lips as well, that way it doesn’t come off,” she said, gently reinforcing the color by patting it in with her fingertips to lock it in and create longevity.
Who knew recreating that Posh pout could be so simple?
