The fashion girl’s summer has officially begun. On Tuesday, June 1, the beloved beauty brand Shiseido announced that it’s teamed up with New York City-based fashion designer Tory Burch. The collection features floral-packaged, limited-edition versions of two Shiseido bestsellers: Ultimate Sun Protector Lotion 50+ and Clear Sunscreen Stick SPF 50+.
The collaboration was inspired by Burch’s personal devotion to sun care and her longstanding love for Shiseido’s SPF line. “I believe in a ‘less is more’ approach to beauty and that starts with skin protection and an incredible sunscreen,” the designer said in a statement. “Shiseido is the perfect partner for these products, I have always loved Shiseido’s sunscreens and have used them for years.”
Both of the sunscreens are fueled with Shiseido’s signature WetForce + HeatForce Technology, which, according to the brand, “creates an invisible, lightweight protective veil that becomes more effective in heat, water, and sweat.” They apply invisibly, and this beauty writer is particularly obsessed with the Clear Stick because it’s great both over and under makeup.
In addition to the limited-edition sunscreen, Tory Burch is launching an exclusive fashion capsule featuring designs that match the sunscreen packaging’s Sprinkled Flower print. The collection consists of a surf shirt, swimsuit, flip flops and tote bag. The best part? Both the Tory Bikini and surf shirt are fabricated with sun protection to provide the equivalent of UPF 50 to guard against UV rays.
Not only are these top-rated products great for your skin, but there’s a philanthropic mission, too. In celebration of the collaboration, Tory Burch and Shiseido will be supporting Memorial Sloan Kettering with a grant to fund a one-year clinical research fellowship in dermatology to expand the knowledge of skin cancer.
