Timothée Chalamet had a very busy 2023. So busy in fact, the Wonka star forgot he attended Beyoncé’s metallic-littered Renaissance tour back in August.
When asked during a recent interview what concert performance stuck out the most this year, the 27-year-old appeared perplexed at the question. Confused, Chalamet responded: “I don’t know if I went to any concerts in 2023.”
We understand where you’re coming from, Timothée. The end of the year is a strange period when you immediately forget everything you’ve done over the past 12 months. But there’s no need to play coy when your only concert experience for the year was basically live-streamed on social media for the world to see.
The interviewer appropriately reminded the Academy Award nominee of this fact. “You went to Beyoncé, that was documented,” said the reporter.

It’s unclear if Chalamet earnestly forgot—but honestly, how could you?—or was hoping to not broach the subject, but either way he lit into a megawatt grin when reminded of his PDA-fuelled public debut with Kylie Jenner.
“Yes, yes, yes, that was great,” the actor rattled off before adding, “hard to be present.”
Indeed, it certainly is difficult to stay in the moment when you’re hard launching your new relationship against the backdrop of Beyoncé’s magnum opus. Especially when said debut involves a plethora of amorous advances—which don’t bear repeating in the instance of keeping this article safe for work. Chalamet was also about his “concert vibe”, to which he tried to come back from his previous blunder by explaining how he surprised himself with his lack of Beyoncé knowledge.
He noted that he wasn’t as familiar with her discography and expected to hear her basic hits like “Halo” and “Single Ladies”. Perhaps for Chalamet’s sake, Beyoncé skipped the latter. Who wants to hear, “If you liked it then you should have put a ring on it,” while kissing your new girlfriend?
