It’s 2020 and despite it being completely disastrous, the next ten weeks are kind of exciting; we will see a black woman running for vice president of the United States and Gal Gadot gearing up for the long-awaited release of DC’s Wonder Woman 1984.

With a turn of power comes a turn of armor and The Attico’s Italian designers Giorgia Tordini and Gilda Ambrosio are playing right into this notion. Known for their love of fringing and embellishments, the label’s Pre-AW20 collection saw ostrich feathers traded for handkerchief-style hemlines. One piece in particular – a red, white and silver sequined skirt with tassels – had Gadot’s name all over it should a movie premiere actually have been allowed to happen.

The piece sold out really quickly on Italian luxury site LuisaViaRoma, but don’t worry, it’s coming soon to MatchesFashion.com/au. Another silver sequined skirt, one with the illusion of belt made for battle, is also featured in our edit below.

The upcoming super hero film based on the DC Comic character Diana Prince (AKA Wonder Woman) will see the warrior come into conflict with the Soviet Union during the Cold War in the 1980s. She will be reunited with Captain Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) who was killed in the first film and also find a formidable foe in a villain named Cheetah played by Saturday Night Live’s Kristen Wiig. Like the first movie, it’s the action scenes and Diana’s new golden eagle armor that will steal the show.
