Phoebe Bridgers’ opening act during Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has come to a close this weekend, during Swift’s MetLife Stadium performances in New Jersey. To pay homage, Swift wore a sentimental bauble from the Punisher artist’s collaboration with the jewelry line Catbird.
During Bridgers’ last night on the stadium tour, Swift brought her onstage to sing their “from-the-vault” duet, “Nothing New.” During the performance, Swift adorned her sparkling red custom Ashish trench coat and signaled that she was wearing the Phoebe Bridgers x Catbird Give You the Moon Charm and the Swimming Pool Chain.
The moonstone charm is engraved with Bridgers’ lyric, “I would give you the moon,” in her own handwriting from the track, “Moon Song.” The gem holds lyrical significance for Swift as well, who sings, “Some guy said my aura’s moonstone just ‘cause he was high,” in the Midnights track, “Bejeweled.”
“You are my hero,” Bridgers told Swift on Sunday night before breaking into song. Swift said, “Thank you for being the friend that you’ve been to me. This is really something we could’ve written in a note to each other: ‘Thank you for being a friend that I will never ever stop confiding in and trusting. I love you with everything.’ But yeah, this is the last time we’re gonna get to sing together on this tour.”
Each charm is rendered in both recycled sterling silver and recycled 14-karat gold. Known for their use of ethical diamonds and natural pearls, Catbird founders Rony Vardi and Leigh Batnick Plessner began their collaboration with the Stranger in the Alps artist in December after realizing how often the star was purchasing their products, and dropped the second installment of the collaboration in February.
“Here are the charms I made with @catbirdnyc
,” Bridgers posted on Instagram. Catbird wrote on the website, “We’ve long admired Phoebe’s work and reflective lyricism — after years of quietly outfitting her in Catbird jewelry, we decided to design a small collection together.”
After Swift donned the piece, Catbird swiftly restocked the charm on their site. Orders close at the end of day on June 4 so fans still have a chance to purchase their own.
