Things seem to be heating up between Taylor Swift and the lead singer of the English pop rock band, The 1975, Matt Healy. Romance rumors have been saturating headlines and newsfeeds the past few weeks, and now the pair were seen kissing on Thursday at Casa Cipriani in New York City.
An eyewitness told Page Six, “they sat next to each other at a banquette in the lounge.” According to the source, Swift and Healy were “cuddling and kissing.”
The two musicians were joined by close friend and producer to the stars, Jack Antonoff, who is said to have set up the rumored couple according to an anonymous source on Instagram gossip account Deux Moi.
The two were photographed holding hands as they walked through the venue. The Speak Now artist was carrying a glass of wine and wore a yellow floral-printed DÔEN dress and Mary Jane shoes. She pulled her blonde hair pulled back into an effortless bun and sporting her signature red lip.
According to The Sun, the Midnights artist is “madly in love” with Healy. The pair have maintained a close friendship since 2014. An inside source told the publication, “It’s super-early days, but it feels right. They first dated, very briefly, almost 10 years ago but timings just didn’t work out.”
Swift’s friend, actor Ryan Reynolds entered the chat with a subtle joke on his Instagram Stories on Wednesday. The Deadpool star shared a selfie with The 1975’s hit track “Chocolate” playing in the background. While he wasn’t mentioning any names directly, Reynolds added the words, “Zoom Zoom” to the post without any context.
Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively have been close with the pop star for years – and Reynolds has quite the reputation for poking fun at his loved ones. Swift was recently seen out and about in New York City with the famous couple, following her split from her boyfriend of six years, Joe Alwyn.
To add to the speculation, Healy attended a Taylor Swift concert over the weekend with some of her closest friends, including models Gigi Hadid and Lily Aldridge. Granted, he had good reason for being there: he performed with Phoebe Bridgers during the show. But then Swift and Healy were photographed arriving back at her Nashville house on 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
The sighting came after a video of Swift and Healy saying the same “This one is about you. You know who you are. I love you,” line on stage during their concerts this week went viral. Healy was in the audience when Swift said hers. In another clip from January, Healy said he wouldn’t kiss anyone on stage because “Taylor Swift was in the audience.”
In April, Entertainment Tonight reported Swift and Alwyn called it quits in March, in what was allegedly an amicable split. According to a source, the relationship “had just run its course,” and was “not dramatic.”
Swift, 33, and Alwyn, 32, began dating in 2016, and though they’ve managed to keep much of their relationship private, it’s been thought that the two were still going strong until fans began to worry Alwyn hadn’t been there to support Swift on her world tour.
