So, Taylor Swift Just Announced She’s Releasing An Entire New
Album
"Before this year I probably would’ve overthought when to
release this music at the ‘perfect’ time, but the times we’re
living in keep reminding me that nothing is guaranteed. My gut is
telling me that if you make something you love, you should just put
it out into the world."

Taylor Swift isn’t known for her spontaneity, especially when it
comes to new music. Remember
Lover? The build up was intense: her entire Instagram was
wiped clean before a steady stream of candy-colored posts were
uploaded for weeks on end, finally reaching fever pitch at the
release of the album cover.
But now, seemingly out of nowhere, the singer/songwriter has
announced the release of her eighth studio album,
Folklore.
On Instagram, Swift explained: “Most of the things I had planned
this summer didn’t end up happening, but there is something I
hadn’t planned on that DID happen.” Folklore is a compilation of 16
tracks, and includes collaborations with some of her musical
heroes, including Aaron Dessner of the National, Justin
Vernon of Bon Iver, William Bowery and longtime
collaborator Jack Antonoff.
Swift also announced the video clip for the track
Cardigan will premiere tonight. Swift wrote and directed
the entire project, and because it was shot during the pandemic,
even took on her own hair, makeup and styling. A medical officer
was even present on the day to ensure strict health and safety
measures were adhered to.
