Taylor Swift made a dazzling entrance at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards dripping in crystals in her Oscar de la Renta creation.
The superstar graced the red carpet in a silver beaded off-the-shoulder, high-neck mini cocktail dress from creative directors Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim’s Pre-Spring 2023 collection. The frock was completely sheer beneath the heavy, draped beading, calling to mind a modern version of a 1920s flapper dress. Styled by Joseph Cassell Falconer, Swift paired the look with silver Christian Louboutin sandals adorned with dangling charms, plus Lorraine Schwartz to add even more shine to her style.
The singer completed her look with a statement beauty moment, including ultra-glam eye crystals and her signature red statement lip. The musician’s golden locks were pulled back into a loose bun while her curtain bangs dangled, parted down the middle.
Swift is nominated for five MTV VMAs for Video of the Year, best longform video, best cinematography, best direction, and best editing for her video, “All Too Well” (10 Minute Version). The musician took home the award for best longform video.
“Before this, I had directed and written my music videos, but I had never made a short film before,” Swift said in her acceptance speech. She thanked the film’s stars, Stranger Things‘ Sadie Sink and Not Okay‘s Dylan O’Brien, as well as the cinematographer and producers.
“We put our entire hearts into this trying to make something that might be worthy of the love that you, the fans, have shown this song,” she continued. “Thank you for this beautiful indication that we did something right. Love you guys.”
