Sydney Sweeney is embracing her future role as Barbarella in a fanatically futuristic gown by LaQuan Smith. Styled by Molly Dickson, the Euphoria actress turned heads on Wednesday evening in London, wearing a black, asymmetrical draped gown with a silver metallic breastplate, featuring pointed nipples from the designer’s Spring/Summer 2023 ready-to-wear collection.
The White Lotus actress teamed her show-stopping dress with a matching silver metallic manicure and a coordinating assortment of high-shine silver rings and dainty silver earrings.
Sweeney swept her rust-colored strands up into a loose bun, with one strand framing her face. The Emmy-nominated star continued the metallic theme with her glam. Celebrity makeup artist Melissa Hernandez gave Sweeney’s cat-eye a flick of shimmering silver liner.
In October, Sweeney confirmed her new role as Barbarella in the upcoming Sony Pictures project, of which she will both star and executive produce. Based on Jean-Claude Forest’s French comic book series following a space-age vixen, the storyline was later turned into Roger Vadim’s 1968 feature film starring the legendary Jane Fonda. We can’t help but spot the similarities between Sweeney’s latest style moment and Fonda’s intergalactic Paco Rabanne-designed space gear.
