The flashy girl from Flushing is back! The Nanny is officially joining HBO Max April 1st, and what better way to celebrate the return of our favorite (and most fashionable) nanny, then to flip through Fran Fine’s iconic wardrobe that continues to transcend time.
From her itty bitty skirts, neon turtlenecks, and all-over sequin dresses, Fran Fine’s style was iconic then and dare to say even more iconic now. Brenda Cooper, the sitcom’s costume designer, created an endless amount of fashion inspiration over the course of the show’s six seasons, and lucky for us, shared on Instagram some behind the scenes Polaroids from styling Fran Drescher’s character back in the day.
It’s been over 25 years since the show premiered in 1993, yet Fran’s maximalist outfits continue to give us closet inspiration. To honor Cooper’s timeless styling, GRAZIA curated a list of luxury look-a-likes to shop from Fran’s wardrobe — just in time for her return. We will gladly follow in her footsteps and opt for wearing red instead of tan!
Keep scrolling to check out GRAZIA’s favorites from the 90s sitcom and where to buy updated, luxury versions. We are counting down the days until her big hair, leopard print, and oh-so famous laugh return to the silver screen.
