The Rodarte sisters, Kate and Laura Mulleavy, tapped another round of Hollywood A-listers and iconic musicians to model the brand’s latest designs in a new lookbook. The Fall-Winter 2022 collection channels Rodarte’s iconic Black Swan era (when they designed black and white swan costumes for Natalie Portman’s role in the film, as well as outfits for the ballet troupe) by turning the stars into modern-day ballerinas.
For the lookbook, the brand featured over 15 stars including, Charli XCX, Natasha Lyonne, Rachel Brosnahan, Taylour Paige, Kaitlyn Dever, Cleopatra Coleman, Janicza Bravo, Iris Apatow, Lexi Underwood, Saniyya Sidney, Mandy Moore, Hannah Einbinder, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes and GRAZIA USA cover star Lana Condor, who all modeled the label’s latest collection, with many posing in ballet positions. With their hair slicked back into tight buns adorned with florals or tied with ribbon, and wearing ballet slippers-inspired heels, they all looked the part.
The collection follows Rodarte’s quintessential brand DNA, with pieces featuring exaggerated ruffles, layered tulle skirts, and floral-print fabrics, all in a palette of pastels or in white and black.
A star-studded cast is no new concept for Rodarte. The brand frequently enlists the best in film and music to bring its dream-worthy garments to life. Gabrielle Union, King Princess, and Kirsten Dunst starred in the brand’s SS20 lookbook. Other notables who have landed spots in campaigns over the years have included Grimes, Phoebe Bridgers, Chloe x Halle, and Yalitza Aparicio, to name a few.
