Emily Ratajkowski, after the birth of her son Sylvester Apollo Bear in March, took six months off of the runway to care for her newborn. Now, in the ultimate comeback, Ratajkowski walked for the latest Savage X Fenty show. The 30-year-old model took the stage by storm in a fuchsia two-piece, with her post-maternity body marking her triumphant return.
While the fuchsia two-piece in all its satin-sheen glory was the centerpiece of the model’s attire, it was paired with an equally fierce pair of leopard print heels. We think we’re past the point culturally where leopard print was once deemed kitsch and tacky, and it definitely has a place in the world of high fashion. The rest of look was completed by plaited brunette hair that cascaded down her face, and an array of chunky gold bracelets and large gold earrings.
With this Savage X Fenty show, it not only marks Ratajkowski’s return, but Rihanna’s as well. The beauty, fashion and entertainment mogul announced the Fall 2021 Savage x Fenty lingerie show last week. Rihanna described the event as a show “combining fashion, dance, music, and iconic architecture, Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 3 highlights the newest assortment of styles through subtle-yet-impactful scenic elements, lighting, and filming techniques.”
Ratajkowski was the first of many names to be released for the star-studded production. The show will include an all-star list of “models, actors, performers, and more.” In a strange crossover of celebrities, James Corden was apparently also at the event. We wouldn’t have pegged him as a Savage X Fenty man, but who knows, he could look stunning in a set of Rihanna’s lingerie. Other celeb sightings included singer Ricky Martin, who performed on stage.
So, this show begs the question, who else could we see at these Savage X Fenty shows? If history tells us anything, it could be anyone from Normani to the Hadid sisters. All we know is that Rihanna usually isn’t one to disappoint, so buckle up.
