Princess Charlotte arrived to her grandfather King Charles III’s coronation in an outfit that matched mom Kate Middleton. The royal 8-year-old wore a mini version of the Princess of Wales’ sparkling Jess Collett x Alexander McQueen headpiece. They also matched their dresses too.

Both chose Alexander McQueen dresses — the same designer Kate wore to her wedding to Prince William. Their long white dresses were embroidered with rose, thistle, daffodil and shamrock designs to signify the four nations of the United Kingdom.

Princess Charlotte’s parents both wore royal robes at the request of the King Charles and Queen Camilla. Charlotte wore a similar look, in a matching white robe from the brand which was fastened with two buttons at the top.

Princess Charlotte held hands with her little brother Prince Louis, 5, as they walked into Westminster Abbey behind their parents. Then they took a seat between Prince William and Kate Middleton. Their older brother Prince George, 9, didn’t sit with his family because instead, he played the important role of page during the ceremony.

George stood with other pages, including Nicholas Barclay (the grandson of Sarah Troughton, the King’s second cousin), Ralph Tollemache (the son of the King’s godson Edward Tollemache) and Lord Oliver Cholmondeley (the son of the King’s Lord-in-Waiting, the Marquis of Cholmondeley). Camilla’s three grandsons, twins Gus and Louis Lopes and Freddy Parker Bowles and her great-nephew Arthur Elliot also played a role in the ceremony.

People reported that the Prince and Princess of Wales were “cognizant that he is old enough to understand what’s going on,” but he’d go back to “normal life” at school the following week.

“His parents are very excited and delighted that he is a page,” a spokesperson for the Prince and Princess of Wales told the outlet. “It’s something that his parents have thought long and hard about and are very much looking forward to — and I’m sure George is, too.”

Princess Charlotte has been following in her mother’s fashionable footsteps with their coordinating looks during family outings. In December, they wore matching maroon coats to attend “Together at Christmas” Carol Service at Westminster Abbey.

The young royal is also taking after her mother by wearing accessories that have special meaning. At Queen Elizabeth II‘s funeral, she honored her great-grandmother by donning a diamond horseshoe brooch pinned on her black dress. According to People, the brooch was a gift from the Queen, who famously loved horses.

It not only marked the first piece of jewelry worn by Charlotte, but she also wore a hat for the first time, matching her mother with a wide-brim black hat with a bow seen from the back.

Like mother, like daughter!
