Piers Morgan, the controversial ex-host of Good Morning Britain has officially broken his silence following an erratic departure from the set of the breakfast show just over two weeks ago. The television personality published a report in the UK paper The Mail on Sunday blaming “insidious woke cancel culture” for his resignation and furthermore claiming he is not a racist.

“I expected such disingenuous, self-serving wrecking-ball stuff from a social-climbing Hollywood actress like Ms Markle, but for Harry to publicly shred his family and the Monarchy like this, while Prince Philip was seriously ill in hospital, is so out of character for a man who once bravely served his Queen and country in war,” Morgan wrote at the beginning of his column.

Amid Markle’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Duchess of Sussex admitted she became suicidal. It was also revealed that Buckingham Palace had allegedly questioned the color of Archie’s skin color before birth. Following the interview, Morgan has fiercely questioned the truth on both claims.

“It appears that questioning Meghan’s fork-tongued ‘truth’ is now a racist hate crime,” Morgan continued to write citing he was called a racist after he had left GMB.

The day after Morgan claimed Markle had lied in the interview, the ex-host explained he brought on the biracial weather broadcaster Alex Beresford to debate on the previous morning’s comments. The heated on-air argument – described as a “censorious lecture” by Morgan – prompted him to walk off the set. The ITV Network responsible for GMB explained he needed to apologize before he returned. Morgan wrote that in doing so for something he didn’t believe in was not the “essence of freedom of speech.”

“And even if I did apologize, that wouldn’t be the end of it. The woke brigade would keep coming for me, demanding I apologize for everything else they find offensive – which of course, is absolutely everything,” he added.

Emily Ratajkowski has been widely criticized by the host in the past as has actress Jameela Jamil. She took to Twitter following Morgan’s resignation to reveal she nearly killed herself due to the man’s “relentless campaign of lies and hatred against me.”

Morgan went further into his column to explain that cancel culture would be the end of democracy.

“She’s just one of many whiny, privileged, hypocritical celebrities who now cynically exploit victimhood to suppress free speech, value their own version of the truth above the actual truth, and seek to cancel anyone that deviates from their woke world view or who dares to challenge the veracity of their inflammatory statements,” he wrote.

“But if our rights to free speech are denied, then democracy as we know it will die,” he said. “It’s time to cancel the cancel culture before it kills our culture.”

Let’s not forget this is the man who said he was “distracted” by his co-host’s short skirt. You may or may not be a racist Morgan, but misogyny is alive and well.
