As Carrie Bradshaw once said, “beauty is fleeting, but a rent-controlled apartment overlooking the park is forever,” and Paul Rudd is the personification of the rent-controlled apartment. His timeless essence and allure is coveted by everyone, pretty much everywhere, you either are attracted to him or you want to be him. I mean, the man seemingly hasn’t aged in the entire time he’s been in the public eye, and it’s earned him the title of “2021′s Sexiest Man Alive” by PEOPLE magazine.

Rudd isn’t the archetypal himbo, the personification of masculine sexiness with very little emotional or intellectual substance. The actor remains relevant, witty and ever-so talented. He isn’t the typical persona to be chosen for this title, he usually flies a little under the radar in this editorial category, but on the internet and in the minds of people attracted to men, he’s the eternal teenage dream. Even at 52-years-old.

Some would even argue that Rudd ages backwards, getting more and more attractive every year, like a fine wine.

Upon learning of his award, Rudd said “I do have an awareness, enough to know that when people hear that I’d be picked for this, they would say, ‘What?’ This is not false humility. There are so many people that should get this before me.”

But let’s be real here. Who, in this day and age, outweighs Rudd’s evergreen appeal. Masculine icons of beauty may come and go, some are forgotten with age, others lack in a humble personality, but Rudd ticks every mark.

“I figure I’ll be on a lot more yachts,” Rudd said. “I’m excited to expand my yachting life. And I’ll probably try to get better at brooding in really soft light. I like to ponder. I think this is going to help me become more inward and mysterious. And I’m looking forward to that.”
