Academy Award-nominee and star of Oppenheimer Emily Blunt looked incredible today on the Oscars red carpet in Los Angeles. The 41-year-old actress swanned into the event, with her husband John Krasinski in tow, in a gold and silver sequinned floor-length gown by Schiaparelli. Plucked from the house’s Spring/Summer haute couture 2024 runway, its gravity-defying shoulders were just another one of Daniel Roseberry’s strong silhouettes infiltrating this year’s awards season: See Taylor Swift at the Grammys, Zendaya at Paris Fashion Week, Dua Lipa at the Golden Globes.
Blunt teamed the look with jewellery from Tiffany & Co. including two Victoria diamond necklaces in platinum, diamond earrings in platinum and a ring in platinum and diamonds. Similarly, Krasinski wore a Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Floral Arrows brooch, Tiffany 1837 Makers watch and Diamond Point Square cuff links.
Blunt is nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category today for her role as German-American biologist and botanist Kitty Oppenheimer in Christopher Nolan’s complex and vivid portrait of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the “father of the atomic bomb.” While I never thought I would be one to sit through three hours of men talking about quantum physics, I thoroughly enjoyed the film, with Blunt’s scenes consisting mostly of her clutching a martini on the edge of the frame.
Looking as shiny and as golden as an Oscar statue itself, it doesn’t matter if Blunt wins today or not. She’s always won our hearts with this gown and that fish braid.
