Orlando Bloom‘s daily routine’ isn’t the kind of information that I ever thought I’d need in my life, but the actor’s recent first-person account of his day to The Sunday Times has proven me very, very wrong. The 44-year-old has blessed us all by walking through a typical day in his life, which appears to highlight an unexpected commitment to beauty and wellness.

Among Bloom’s many unconventional practices throughout his day – which include “a bit of Buddhism” and playing with Lego “while I work” – the Lord Of The Rings star reveals he wakes up at 6.30am each morning and subsequently checks the quality of his sleep from the night before on an app. Instead of immediately jumping into breakfast – which consists of porridge with “hazelnut milk, goji berries, vanilla paste” most days – Bloom begins with his ingestible beauty regimen.

The actor, who is engaged and has a seven-month-old daughter, Daisy Dove, with singer Katy Perry, kicks off his morning by drinking a mix of greens powders and “brain octane oil, a collagen powder for my hair and nails, and some protein”. Beauty enthusiasts, such as myself and apparently Bloom, will know that ingestible beauty powders are also key for supporting glowing skin, while brain octane oil is said to be great for cognitive performance – it’s “all very LA,” as Bloom describes it.

Bloom’s protein, of course, is chosen to fuel his morning hike, which he completes before returning to his $17 million six-bedroom house after he “earns breakfast.” He sticks to a “90 per cent plant-based” diet, adding in explanation: “I sometimes look at a cow and think, that’s the most beautiful thing ever.”

He also shreds with “heavy weights” for at least an hour to “exhaust” himself, and to be honest, I am also exhausted mentally just by reading it. The Twitter criticism came in thick and fast after the article was published, and while I have to agree that Bloom’s wellness routine is all very chaotic – I also somehow find it kind of endearing.

Overall I have many, many, many questions about the entire thing, but perhaps the most pressing given the actor’s penchant for beauty is – when can we expect his skincare routine to drop?
