The future is looking bright for young Albanian-born, London-based designer Nensi Dojaka. The designer won the LVMH Prize only last week, and today she debuted her highly anticipated Spring/Summer 2022 collection during London Fashion Week — and it didn’t disappoint.
Dressing for a night out is just what the new generation designer is making a case for in her latest collection. Barely-there, body-con, and tailored ensembles that frame the body are Dojaka’s bread and butter. The collection takes form in her signature black and muted tones; though sitting on the border of being advertently sexy, pieces are also easy enough to wear casually with a pair of jeans and sneakers.
Dojaka dives deeper into the early aughts trends with standout exaggerated tights with ribbons and lace. We can already see her cult-like following, which naturally includes Y2K trendsetters like Bella Hadid and Dua Lipa, in some of these striking looks. Models donned new silhouettes including bandeau tops and briefs never before seen by the designer. Could we be getting swim attire from Dodaka in the future? It seems an appropriate next step for the brand.
With the backing of the fashion industry’s most prestigious prize, 300,000 EUR (about $356,000 USD), and a year of mentoring from within the professional ranks of French luxury group LVMH, we’re excited to see how Dojaka grows and explores her eponymous label.
