If we’re pining for skincare secrets from anyone, it’s Australian beauty Miranda Kerr. Aside from her glowing supermodel looks, she’s also the founder and CEO of Kora Organics, which has created a line-up of certified organic products that are designed to deliver a refreshing, healthy complexion.

The latest launch from Kora Organics is in its award-winning Turmeric Glow collection — the certified organic Turmeric Glow Foaming Cleanser. Launching today, its active ingredients turmeric, noni, aloe vera, and naturally derived sugar isomers work together to provide a deep and effective cleanse without drying, irritating, or stripping your skin.

“I don’t want to put anything on my skin unless it’s really results-driven. Of course, I want it to be healthy, that’s why they’re certified organic. But at the end of the day, they need to be results-driven,” Kerr told GRAZIA USA. “What I love about this new product, the Turmeric Glow Foaming Cleanser, is that it’s so powerful, but also soothing for your skin at the same time.”

Founded in 2006, Kora Organics launched in the Australian market in 2009, was established in the U.S. in 2017, and went global the next year.

Closely collaborating with her chemists, Kerr was advised early on that creating powerful, results-driven, certified organic products would require a considerable investment and staunch commitment. “Every single product is like my baby and like a passion,” says Kerr. “I’m very invested in all the ingredients and working directly with the chemists to really create these products to help your skin in a specific way, whether that be the detoxifying, brightening effect, or whether that be nourishing, and putting all the nutrients back into your skin, or anti-aging benefits. Everything is very intentional.”

When Kerr was a teenager, her mother was diagnosed with cancer in her spleen. Her battle caused the family to take a step back and examine all the ingredients in their household products, “from personal care products, to cleaning supplies, to any packaged goods.” Kerr says they were surprised to see how products with potentially toxic ingredients were in the market and deemed safe. The whole experience encouraged the supermodel to create certified organic line-up. “When you’re certified organic, then you have a third party overlooking everything that you’re doing and really making sure that the products and ingredients are what they claim to be.”

Implementing safe and natural ingredients she’s sworn by for most of her life, noni and turmeric take center stage in the new Turmeric Glow Foaming Cleanser. “Noni is a superfood, super fruit that I have been drinking and using on my skin since I was 13 years old. It’s full of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants,” says Kerr. “I really feel like it’s been the key to my health and vitality.”

Kerr’s grandmother gave her 30 milliliters of noni juice everyday since she was 13 years old. Popular for its healing properties in Australia, noni’s antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-fungal effects caused Kerr to put the superfood directly on her skin if she were suffering from a breakout or even a sunburn as a child.

As for turmeric, Kerr’s been cooking with the spice for as long as she can remember, and going the extra mile with “little turmeric orange shots for wellness.” Also known for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory elements, the special ingredient helps with brightening dark spots, pigmentation, clearing up acne, and smoothing out fine lines.

But noni and turmeric aren’t Kerr’s only secret weapons for a fresh face. Rinsing with cold water, exfoliating, essential oils, and drinking celery juice are some of the beauty tips she swears by. “I’m obsessed with celery juice. I really feel like it helps you glow from the inside out.”

As for the one Kora Organics product she couldn’t live without, the Turmeric Brightening & Exfoliating Mask takes the cake. “I wanted to create a product with this turmeric product that was like a microdermabrasion scrub, but then you can leave it on as a deeply detoxifying purifying mask if you wanted to.”

Strong, yet gentle, the Exfoliating Mask has even been used to treat the skin condition keratosis pilaris, also known as “strawberry skin.”

“A dermatologist in Australia wrote to me and said this is what he prescribes for people that have [KP],” says Kerr. “And it’s the only thing that helps. I also have friends that use this on any areas where they get ingrown hairs, around the bikini line, under the arms, because it really just helps with that cell renewal. That’s also a good thing for the summer.”

Balancing life with three children, Kerr still owns 95% of her “baby girl” Kora Organics. “I think it’s important that our children see and understand that work is a necessary part of life as long as their needs are met,” says Kerr. “Being a mother is my number one priority.”

Kerr is mom to 11-year-old Flynn Bloom, with whom she shared with ex-husband Orlando Bloom, 4-year-old Hart Spiegel and 2-year-old Myles Spiegel, whom she shares with husband, co-founder of Snapchat Evan Spiegel.

She also has her sons in mind when thinking about the legacy of her brand. “My goal has always been to create this brand that I could hand down to my children,” Kerr shares. “Hopefully one day it can become like the Estée Lauder of organic skincare.”

Just as Estée and Joseph Lauder handed down their cosmetics company to their sons, Leonard and Ronald, Kerr’s skincare business is rooted in family through and through.
