Once fare for children’s parties or music festivals, face jewels are quickly becoming a chic way to enhance your makeup. Of course, we’re not talking about OTT bedazzling, rather a subtle sprinkling of sparkle that takes an otherwise simple beauty look to the next level.

The latest star to embrace face jewels? None other than Miranda Kerr. The model – who tends to keep her makeup looks relatively simple and classic – recently posted some pictures to her Instagram Story of her face adorned with a few artfully-placed jewels.

In the first image, Kerr wears minimal taupe eyeshadow with a burnt red lip and just a touch of mascara. But underneath her groomed arches, a line of tiny crystals traces below the very tail of the brow. In another snap, Kerr wears sculpted pink glitter eye with an apricot lip and several lavender gems placed from the inner corner of the eye to the middle of the lid, just above the crease.

We’ve seen face jewels become more popular on both the runway and the red carpet this year. At Etro‘s Spring/Summer 2022 show, models wore metallic and crystal gems through their under eye area, with varying sizes and shapes.

We also saw rising style star Griff don similar jewels across the side of her forehead and down to her brow, with futuristic silver shadow and jewel-encrusted hair accessories adding to the otherworldly look.

Amanda Gorman, meanwhile, created her own solar system of sparkle at this year’s Met Gala, with silver glitter and intricate crystals creating a constellation from her left temple to her right eye.

Whoever your inspiration might be, it’s the perfect new addition to try with your beauty looks for the party season.
