June 8, 2021: Megan thee Stallion reminded us that she invented Hot Girl Summer, as well as Hot Curl Summer in a new Instagram post, shared to Instagram on Monday, June 7. The photo is captioned, “While I was away💙,” referencing the brief hiatus from social media. But she but came back huge yesterday with not only a photo of her looking incredible in a blue bikini and wild kinky-textured hair, but announced a new track called “Thot Shit”—and the re-emergence of her alter ego, Tina Snow.

Megan’s been very transparent with fans about loving her natural hair, and especially when it comes to her growth journey. She, along with stylist Kellon Deryck, who has coiffed fellow musicians such as  Missy Elliott, Teyana Taylor, and Nicki Minaj, regularly post images of Megan’s natural hair as she’s taking care of it, and have been doing so for at least two years now. Oh, and she happens to also be a spokesperson for Black-owned haircare company Mielle Organics. So fans have seen her kinky curls move from a cute short bob to nearly mid-length strands.

We last got a peek at Megan’s natural hair back in March, when she showed her hair in the stylist’s chair, getting rinsed off in the sink — proof that shrinkage is real, particularly for those with kinky and curly textured hair. The hitmaker’s got bars and inches, y’all, and she’s lucky to have it. Back in December, Megan did another length check — this time, with a request for her fans’ favorite Black-owned beauty companies. At this point, we’re just as invested in the health of Megan’s curls as we are our own personal hair, and that’s saying a whole lot. Regardless, welcome back to Instagram, Meg — your hair looks great.
