Mandy Moore has given birth to her first child with husband Taylor Goldsmith. The This Is Us star announced the happy news via her Instagram, saying that the couple were “in love” with their new addition, a baby boy named August.
“Gus is here. Our sweet boy, August Harrison Goldsmith,” Moore wrote. “He was punctual and arrived right on his due date, much to the delight of his parents. We were prepared to fall in love in all sorts of brand new ways, but it goes beyond anything we could have ever imagined.” She also shared the first snap of little Gus in the sweet post.
Moore’s Instagram news was quick to draw congratulations from celebrity friends, including former star of The OC, Rachel Bilson, who wrote, “Congratulations on your sweet beautiful new love!!!!!! Little Gus.” Kiernan Shipka, Alison Brie, Karen Elson and Moore’s Tangled co-star Zachary Levi also offered their congratulations to the couple on the exciting arrival.
Moore, who married Goldsmith in 2018, announced her pregnancy in September last year on Instagram. “Baby Boy Goldsmith coming early 2021,” she wrote alongside a photo of her and Goldsmith together.
Moore admitted in a recent interview with Romper that she and Goldsmith had experienced trouble conceiving initially and that she had visited a fertility specialist to seek help. “We did ovulation tests, all that stuff,” Moore recalled of her pregnancy struggles.
“I was fully prepared to go have surgery and fix my uterus and hopefully get rid of the endometriosis, if it was there. It was nice to have a plan and to know, okay, well, this is why I haven’t been pregnant yet.”
