Lizzo has been on a roll lately and her latest projects have all been good as hell. She’s been working on new music (dropping in April), created a barrier-breaking new competition reality series, Watch Out for the Big Grrrls, and is releasing her new shapewear label, Yitty, a project that’s been “five years in the making.”

Created in partnership with the athleisure company Fabletics, Lizzo joins the likes of Vanessa Hudgens and Demi Lovato by teaming up with the brand (founded by Kate Hudson). With the long-reigning shapewear staple Spanx and Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS, Lizzo is looking to make a distinct impression on the market with her inclusive and body positive new line.

Launching April 12, the three-time Grammy winner’s line-up includes bras, bodysuits, shorts, leggings and more, with sizes ranging from XS-6X. Yitty will release three different collection, with “Nearly Naked,” encompassing seamless pieces, “Major Label,” including daily lifestyle garments and “Mesh Me,” featuring versatile mesh styles that are interchangeable as outerwear.

The crux of her mission is centered around creating pieces that are comfortable enough to wear as an everyday outfit as opposed to hiding beneath one. “I was tired of seeing this sad, restrictive shapewear that literally no-one wanted to wear. I had an epiphany like, ‘who can actually do something about this?’ I decided to take on the challenge of allowing women to feel unapologetically good about themselves again.”

Named after Lizzo’s childhood nickname, Yitty champions for radical self-love, made to distill unabashed confidence. Posting to Instagram, the “Truth Hurts” singer shared a photo posing with models in the garments writing, “This is a love letter to my big grrrls, and a welcome letter to Every Body. This is *not* an invitation to change who you are… this is an opportunity to BE who you are on your terms. I don’t know about y’all— but I’m sick of people telling me how I’m supposed to look and feel about my body. I’m tired of discomfort being synonymous with sexy. If it’s uncomfortable TAKE IT OFF. And if it makes you feel good PUT IT ON.”

As part of the certified Carbon Neutral Company, sister brand Fabletics, more than 65% of Yitty’s styles are created with ultra-soft recycled fibers, with its sustainable packaging made from 100% recycled materials.

Yitty products are available at yitty.com and in select Fabletics stores, beginning April 12.
