Abbott Elementary actress Lisa Ann Walter arrived to the red carpet at the 2023 SAG Awards with a very special guest on her arm — her friend and costar from the beloved 1998 film Parent Trap, Elaine Hendrix.
“Lisa Ann Walter asked me to show up as her date, so by golly I showed up as her date,” Hendrix told People on the carpet. “She sure did,” Walter added. “Best-looking date in a tux I’ve ever had. We both did a little throwback-kind of thing. Elaine went [Marlene] Dietrich. We both have our rhinestone hairclips. I went a little more ’50s.”
Hendrix wore a dapper black tuxedo with a black bowtie, plus strappy black sandals and a bedazzled silver clutch. She styled her platinum blonde hair in ringlet curls and sported a smokey eye and a bright red lip.

Walter chose an off-the-shoulder black dress featuring a plunging sweetheart neckline with a cascading tulle skirt with velvet appliqués.
“This is a dress I found about five years ago and when I saw it, I was entirely unemployed and I said, ‘I’m going to wear this to the SAG Awards,’” Walter recalled. “I don’t know why, but specifically the SAG Awards. So, I feel like I manifested it.” She explained that the dress had another special connection to her too, because her mother, who passed away last year, “loved” it. “I’m carrying her with me and this is her little lucite clutch from the ’50s,” Walter added.
She capped off her ensemble with a dazzling diamond necklace and swept her fiery red hair to the side in buoyant curls, with a red lip.
Walter is nominated alongside the rest of the Abbott Elementary cast for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series and had her bestie by her side for the occasion.
Walter and Hendrix have maintained a close-knit friendship over the years. They walked the red carpet at the 2019 Tony Awards together and have created other mini Parent Trap reunions too, like when they reenacted a beloved scene from the film last year on social media (you remember the one).
