Congratulations are in order for Lindsay Lohan! The actress announced that she’s expecting her first child with her husband of one year, Bader Shammas. The star broke the news on Instagram sharing a photo of a onesie with the words “coming soon” written across the front and the caption, “We are blessed and excited! 🙏🤍👶🍼.”
A slew of comments poured in from her famous friends. Fellow Mean Girls star Amanda Seyfriend wrote, “This is WONDERFUL NEWS!!” While Parent Trap director Nancy Meyers commented, “Lindsay!!!!!! I’m so excited for you! 😍”
Abbott Elementary’s Quinta Brunson wrote, “Omg congrats Lindsay!” Kathy Hilton added, “🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙏🏼❤️😍😍❤️❤️❤️ I am so happy for you 😍” while Donatella Versace added a string of twinkling star emojis.
It’s the first child for the couple, who confirmed their marriage in July 2022. Lohan officially announced that the two were married in a social media post when she referred to him as her “husband.”

The two reportedly met in Dubai and dated for three years before announcing their engagement in November 2021. Shammas remains very private on social media, but before his LinkedIn was taken down, it was reported that he earned a degree in mechanical engineering in 2010 from the University of South Florida and later attended the University of Tampa for his Bachelor of Science in finance. It also said he was working as an assistant vice president at Credit Suisse.
Lohan generally keeps Shammas off of her Instagram too, but he does make an appearance every now and then. The actress shared a selfie together for Christmas and wished him a Happy Birthday last June writing, “My love! You’re not only a great man, an incredible person, you’re my best friend. Thank you for you loving me back babe! I Love You So much! ❤️ Happy Birthday 🎂🙌🙏❤️”
Lohan recently revived her rom-com career in the Netflix holiday film, Falling for Christmas, and has said she’s on board for a Mean Girls and Freaky Friday reboot.
During a stop by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last year, she said she did speak with her Freaky Friday co-star (and new Oscar winner) Jamie Lee Curtis about a sequel. “First of all, let’s just take the fact that I was on set filming at the time, and Jamie Lee Curtis writes you, and you just get excited and distracted immediately,” Lohan said. “So, I had to bring myself down to earth and be like, ‘Okay, I’m on set I have to focus.’ And then she said, Freaky Friday 2, and I got more excited. We would both be into it.”
As for Mean Girls 2, Lohan will leave that in writer Tina Fey’s hands.
Looks like she won’t have time for either remake anytime soon, but she certainly has big things happening ahead.
